3 Stages Of Pain are not a band for the faint-hearted - but then again you'd probably have guessed that from their name.Savage, menacing and, let's face it, downright fucking harsh, this Doncaster, UK, quintet pack a serious punch - imagine Iceland's Minus fucking Iron Monkey and mix that with a little Fugazi and you're getting close! But what's so special about 3 Stages Of Pain is that amidst all the noise and cacophonies, they've not forgotten to write a good tune rammed with groove and the very occasional melody. Formed in 2001 by former Groop Dogdrill bassist Damo Fowkes (who has now switched to guitar), 3 Stages Of Pain's musical aims are to make hard music with soul, and to put some spirit back into a scene that's getting too used to being spoon fed production-line McMetal©.
