We first heard bout Kent metallers Cubic Space Division when we got sent their two track demo at the arse end of 2002 - and it rocked our socks off! So much so that we offered to release their debut album! It almost took a year to sort out - but we got there and we're delighted with the results! Cubic Space Division (named after an MC Escher painting) take you on an epic metal journey of modern soundscapes, exploring the depths of light and dark, sometimes claustrophobic and sometimes uplifting. The quartet was formed by guitarist/ vocalist Jamie Floate, who briefly played with earthtone9 around the time the Nottingham noise oiks recorded their monumental 'arc 'tan' gent' . From the pumping rock action of opener ŒRed Shift¹, to the groove friendly ŒPer Se¹ to the brooding dark forces contained within ŒSilhouette¹ and closer ŒBear The Tide¹, ŒCubic Space Division¹ is a truly intelligent album, flying in the face of the norm. ŒCubic Space Division¹ was recorded by Martin Barbour at Philia Studios, Oxfordshire, and mastered by Joe Gibb at Mighty Atom Studios, Swansea, Wales.
